House. Late C17/early C18 with probably late C18/early C19 addition at the right end and C20 rear additions. Framed construction, the front wall underbuilt in brick on the ground floor and tile-hung above; peg-tile roof; brick stack.
Plan: South facing, slightly set back from the road. Originally a 2-cell plan with a room to the right (east) heated from a rear lateral stack and an unheated room at the left (west) end. The house has been extended by a one- room plan addition at the right end and one-room plan rear wing at right angles with a back-to-back fireplace in the former rear lateral stack. Further C20 rear additions.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front with a C19 gabled porch to right of centre with a C19 plank door. 3 first floor and 3 ground floor C19 2-light casements with 12 panes per light.
Inteiror: Exposed carpentry, the main beams scroll-stopped. Wall-framing on the rear wall survives in part to ground floor level, the wall posts with formed jowls.
Roof: The roof over the 2 left hand (west) rooms is of clasped purlin construction with evidence of considerable repair and re-used timbers. The roof over the right (east) end has later timbers.
