Full Description
In the recently ploughed `Big Field' at Brenzett (TR 0027) the owner, Mr Harry Finn, found a small copper plaque measuring 2.5ins by 2.40ins. The central figure is that of Christ with His right hand raised in blessing and in the top right hand corner there is what appears to be a book suggesting that the plaque represents Christ in Judgment. According to the Dept. of Medieval Antiquities of the British Museum the plaque may have been all that remained of a champleve enamel probably made in England at the end of the C12th. (1)
