The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 64 SW CAPEL CHURCH LANE
5/235 Vineen headstone approx 7m south east of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas A Becket GV II
Headstone. Dated 1784 in memory of Ambrose Vineen and his wife. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 1.1m high. Its double shaped head is carved with winged cherubs heads in profile facing each other. The inscription begins in Gothic lettering but most is Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It is divided into 2 columns over a prayer and records the deaths of Ambrose Vineen in 1784 and his wife Prence? in 1774.
