The following building shall be added to the list:-
CRANBROOK Kennel Holt Country TQ 73 NE House Hotel 3/317 II
House, now an hotel. Probably late C16 remodelling of earlier house, remodelled again in C17 and extended in Cl8-19 by Leonard White, Merchant. Timber-framed, faced in weatherboarding and tile hung above and partly rebuilt in brick. Plain tile roof with gabled ends. Brick axial and gable end stacks.
Long main range of 3 units, the centre said to have been partly rebuilt after Second World War bomb damage. Circa C18-C19 extension on front of left hand end and C20 wing at rear of right hand end and small C20 extensions at rear of main range. 2-storeys. Long asymmetrical south east front with weatherboarded ground floor and tile hung first floor, centre rebuilt in red brick has pedimented doorcase. 1, 2 and 3-light C20 casements; with leaded panes. Left hand has projecting C18-19 extension with 2 12-pane sashes on each floor. At rear large C20 brick and tile-hung wing on left with external stack and 2 storey C20 flat roof extension and 20-light ovolo moulded first floor window to right.
Interior: The right hand room and chamber above have intersecting beam ceilings, the ground floor with 3 rolls to each chamfer, the chamber with stopped chamfers and both with stopped chamfer joists and brick fireplaces with chamfered timber lintels. Close studding partition between right hand room and centre room (now stairhall with C20 stairs). Left hand end and chambers above have chamfered ceiling beams with bar stops, the chamber has exposed jowled wall-posts. Jowled wall-posts and curved tension braces exposed in rear wall of centre part (landing). Clasped side-purlin roof over left (south west) end.
