The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 54 41 SPELDHURST SPELDHURST HILL (north side), SPELDHURST 12/554 Anonymous chest tomb approx 3m west of the tower of the Church of St Mary the Virgin GV II
Chest tomb. C18. Sandstone ashlar chest tomb is rectangular in plan with plain inset corners, fielded panel sides, flat lid with moulded edges and moulded base. Any inscription has worn away.
