The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 64 SW PEMBURY OLD CHURCH ROAD
5/411 Potter headtone approx. 3.5m south of the chancel of the Old Church of St Peter GV II
Headstone. Early C18 in memory of William Potter. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 600mm high. It has a curvilinear shaped double head and recessed front. The stone is somewhat worn. The left head has an inscribed hourglass. The inscription is Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and records the deaths of William Potter (the date of his death is illegible) and his wife Dorothy in 1732.
