September Cottage, an early C19 pair of agricultural cottages first shown on the 1843 Tithe Map but
converted into one property, renovated and extended from the 1960s to the 1980s. (2)

Small house. Probably late C18/early C19 with some C20 alterations. Rendered and blocked out to the ground floor of the main block, tile-hung above; rear wing painted brick to the ground floor, tile-hung above; slate roofs; brick stack.
Plan: On a corner site at the junction of Queen Street and Lucks Lane; south facing. Overall L-plan, with a symmetrical lobby entrance 2-cell block at the front, facing Lucks Lane, the rooms heated from an axial stack. Short rear wing at right angles. The rear wing may be secondary but a single storey block adjoining it at the north end appears to be the same date as the front block.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay south front with a central C19 panelled front door with a flat porch hood. 2 first and 2 ground floor 2- light C19 casements, 2 panes per light, the ground floor windows with plank shutters. The right return, facing Queen Street, has an early C20 front door and C20 windows. The single storey adjoining block has one casement window with plank shutters matching those on the front.
