TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY (south side) 15/120 Jonathan Monckton chest tomb about 4m south of the priests' door in the south wall of the chancel fo the Church of All Saints GV II
Chest tomb. Mid C19. Freestone. Rectangular chest with a moulded plinth, oversailing lid and large engaged corner shafts with moulded capitals and bases. Inscription panel commemorates Jonathan Monckton, q.v. Portobello, died 1853, and other members of the family. The chest marks the entrance to a family vault.
