Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BENENDEN TQ83NW BISHOPSDALE 1350-0/1/5 Bishopsden II House. Late Medieval and C16 rear wing altered in C18 and extended with early to mid C19 front wing. Front wing has ground floor of red brick and 1st floor tile hung. Old tiled roof hipped to right side with end brick chimneystacks; 2 storeys: 3 windows. Central window 16-pane sashes. Others later C19 windows with verticals only, tripartite to ground floor. Central wooden porch with fretted decoration and sunray emblems. Rear wing has some C18 brickwork. Interior has C18 winder stair, roll-moulded dais beam to former open hall and c.1600 roll-moulded ceiling. Arch with possible base cruck. 6 plank doors. Original window with diamond mullions.
