Building survey undertaken by Archaeology in 2006. The house was built c.1600 as a four-bay timber-framed house with a large brick chimney. Minor alterations were made in the C17 and C18. In the early-mid C19 the ground floor walls were rebuilt in brick and the first floor walls were hung with tiles. A lean-to was added to the rear of the building, which was extended later in the C19. During the C20 the interior was 'restored' by adding adding many non-original features. (1)
