The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HORSMONDEN LAMBERHURST ROAD TQ 63 NE (east side) 3/57 Ashdown Farmhouse GV II
House. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and clad with painted brick and ornamental tile banging to first floor. Plain tiled roof. Possible hall house origin. One storey and attic on plinth with 2 storey crosswing to right. Roof with half gable and low hip to left, hipped to right with projecting hipped crosswing. Stacks to left and projecting at end right. Raking dormer to centre and 3 light leaded casement to right on first floor, with 4 light and 2 three light leaded casements on ground floor to centre and right. Half glazed dart in left return elevation.
