The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 53 NW SPELDHURST ASHURST HILL, ASHURST
7/440 Woodhams headstone approx 8m south of the nave of the Church of St Martin GV II
Headstone. Mid C18 in memory of Elizabeth Woodhams. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 800mm high. Its curvilinear shaped head is carved with crossbones over crossed arrows. Inscription in a fielded panel in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering records the death of Elizabeth Woodhams but the date is so worn as to be legible only in the best lighting conditions.
