Summary

Aldington Park, The whole area is arable or pasture. At TR 0767 3705 is the site of a large fishpond now dry and under cultivation, with its strong pond bay, reduced by ploughing, lying along the line of the park pale. There are documentary references to Aldington Park, from 1165 onwards. In the 14th century it was owned by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Aldington Park is mentioned by Leland. It was alienated from the Church by Archbishop Cranmer in the thirty-first year of Henry VIII's reign.
