Summary
Clap Hill, Aldington. A medieval seal, dated between 1250 and 1350, was found in January 1983 in topsoil exposed when a mechanical excavator was digging into the low hillside. The seal is six-sided with an inscription badly cut in Lombardic lettering. It might be that of a wood-carver or wood-cutter of the Weald.
