TQ 64 SE BRENCHLEY MAIDSTONE ROAD, MATFIELD (east side) 6/148 North west lychgate to the Chapel of Ease of St Luke
GV II
Lychgate. Probably 1870s and contemporary with the Chapel of Ease which was designed by Basil Champneys. Timber with a wooden shingle roof. 4 posts with chamfered arches braces and curved braces at the base.support a hipped roof with deep eaves on curved brackets and a timber cross at the apex. Pair of rustic timber gates.
Included for group value with the chapel.
