Orgarswick was so poor that it was exempted from taxation in 1384. The church (TR 03 SE 5) fell into decay in the first half of the C16th. (2)

In most cases there is nothing to prove that there was a village at the sites in question. A deserted church site or isolated church certainly does not prove the existence of a deserted village. (5)
