The following text is from the original listed building designation:
THE PANTILES 1. 1746 (North West Side) No 58 (The Swan Hotel) TQ 5838 NW 1/16 20.5.52. II GV 2. Early Cl9. 3 storeys wood stuccoed and grooved in imitation of masonry. Pilasters flank the front. Eaves cornice with modillions. 3 windows. Built out over the arcade on 4 slender fluted columns with entablature including a dentilled cornice along the bottom of the over-hang. Cl8 shop window in the arcade with the upper half of its glazing bars intact, the lower half missing. The Swan Hotel has an additional building of lower elevation behind in the London Road. Nos 2 to 28 (even) and Nos 38 to 72 (even) form a group.
