The following text is from the original listed building designation:
MOUNT SION 1. 1746 (North Side) No 27 (Dunrnford Lodge) No 29 (Mansfield Lodge) TQ 5838 NW 1/28 II GV 2. No 29 ('Mansfield Lodge') is probably an C18 house, to which 2 curved bays of 3 windows each have been added in the early Cl9 but these have been refaced with cement and a gable added to the north west bay, which has been cut off and included in the adjoining house, No 27 ('Durnford Lodge'). 3 storeys and attics. 2 dormers and 1 window in the added gable. 7 sashes in moulded architrave surrounds without glazing bars. Porch between the bays with 2 Tuscan columns and 2 half columns and wrought iron railing over. No 27 has a lower annexe to the west of 2 storeys and 2 windows. Nos 9 to 29 (odd) form a group.
