The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOUDHURST CLAYHILL TQ 7237-7337 (south east side)
15/142 Clayhill Cottages GV II House, now housepair. C16. Timber-framed and tile hung, part of ground floor red brick and rendered. Plain tiled roof. Hall house origin with cross-wing. Two storeys and attic; with projecting jettied wing to left, with half-hipped roof, main roof hipped with gablet. Stacks to left, to rear left and to centre right. Two flat-roofed dormers, and 3-light casement to cross-wing garret. Four 3-light leaded casements on 1st floor, and 4 irregular wooden and metal casements on ground floor. Boarded doors to left, to centre and with gabled hood to centre right. The cross-wing is a substantial build in its own right, returned to left return with large hipped roof. Sometime village workhouse.
