Summary

In 1678 a large urn was reportedly found on a hill to the east of Crundale in Godmersham parish. The urn contained a shallow earthen pan and another small insrcibed urn and was also covered by a large flat stone and surrounded by flints. This evidence has been interpreted as evidence of a Romano-British cist burial. The precise location of the burial is uncertain due to the age of its discovery.
