Summary

Marle Place is a privately-owned Wealden garden with acres of flower beds, woodland and orchards. The site is one of the Seven Wonders of the Weald. Main construction periods 1867 to 1899. The following text is from the original listed building designation: "Garden walls to the garden south and east of Marle Place including gateway to the courtyard. Late 19th century brick garden walls; gateway brick with a tiled roof. The garden walls extend parallel to the road and are buttressed. The gateway has a gabletted roof on brick piers, the roof supported on curved timber braces."
