The following text is from the original listed building designation:
LAMBERHURST BAYHAM ABBEY TQ 63 NW 2/130 Gate Lodge about 100 metres north-west of Bayham Abbey GV II
Gate lodge. 1870 for Marquess Camden by David Brandon, architect. Random coursed rubble with ornamentally tiled roof. Single storey, originally L-shaped with moulded bargeboarded gable to each arm of the L, and with open arcaded timbered porch on sandstone base in re-entrant angle with similar gable. Stack at end right. Each gable end with canted bay window, and boarded door in porch. Extended to right with single storey in same materials, but with 2 wooden casements.
