TQ 64 SW CAPEL CHURCH LANE
5/225 Brook headstone approx 9m south east of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas A Becket GV II
Headstone. Dated 1781 in memory of Jane and Samuel Brook. Upright sandstone slab standing approx lm high with double shaped head which is very finely carved; the left head with cherubs faces showing through vine leaf foliage and the right one with a spoked wheel-like motif. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and records the deaths of Jane Brook in 1781 and her husband Samuel in 1801.
