The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 55 41 SPELDHURST SPELDHURST HILL (north side), SPELDHURST 12/562 Coombin headstone adjacent north wall of the aisle of the Church of St Mary the Virgin GV II
Headstone. Dated 1778 in memory of John Coombin. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 300mm high. Its shaped head is inscribed with crossed arrows. Fielded panel below is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and records the death of John Coombin in 1778.
