The following text is from the original listed building designation:
THE PANTILES 1. 1746 (North West Side) Nos 26 and 28 TQ 5838 NW 1/13 20.5.52 II GV 2. C18. 3 storeys fronted with painted wood and grooved in immitation of masonry. Different roof levels. Modern shop fronts. Colonnade of 4 Tuscan columns, with modern glazed verandah built above it and a projecting clock dated 1924. Nos 2 to 28 (even) and Nos 38 to 72 (even) form a group.
