Monument record TR 04 NW 12 - Clay extraction pits, Sokum Downs
Summary
Pits first identified as possible deneholes have been noted in the undergrowth of a patch of woodland on Sokum Downs, to the north-west of Sokum Farm, Boughton Aluph. It is thought that these features actually represent evidence of extraction for tile clay as they bear little if any resemblance to dene-holes.
