Summary

A Second World War pillbox previously noted from documentary sources is visible on aerial photographs of 2007 as a surviving structure in a field on the western edge of St Marys Bay. This feature was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project.

Pillbox; no specification. To the West of the A259 road, North of New Romney. (1)

The Second World War pillbox previously noted from documentary sources is visible on aerial photographs of 2007 as a surviving structure in a field on the western edge of St Marys Bay. The pillbox is centred at TR 0840 2744, and measures approximately four to five metres across. It is possibly a Type 22 or Type 24 pillbox, although it appears to have some kind of porch or extension on its north-eastern side (2).
