Summary

The location of a Second World War reinforced concrete gun emplacement in Hythe. The gun emplacement was not visible on the available historical aerial photographs at this location, which places it in the back garden of a house, but without further information it is not clear exactly where in Hythe the gun emplacement was located. It may have possibly been sited on the bank of the Royal Military Canal that extends through Hythe.

Gun emplacement. Hythe. (1)

The gun emplacement referred to above (Source 1) was not visible on the available historical aerial photographs at this location, viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The NGR given sites the emplacement in the back garden of a house, but without further information it is not clear exactly where in Hythe the gun emplacement was located. It may have possibly been sited on the bank of the Royal Military Canal that extends through Hythe. (2)
