Monument record TR 04 NW 18 - Iron Age cremation burial
Summary
The remains of an Iron Age (possibly La Tene III??) cremation burial were found in a garden at Kennington Lees in 1963. The burial comprised a jar, used as a cinerary urn, a bowl and a dish, possibly used as a lid to the urn. These finds have been identified as of late Iron Age in form dated to the first century, however they may well date to the early Roman period. The finds were donated to the Maidstone Museum and are thought to remain in their possession.
