Beside Crete Road East, Folkestone.Type 22 pillbox, with thick detached blast wall to rear.

Type 22 pillbox, with thick detached blast wall to rear. Pillbox with original embrasures in every face. An extra 2ft approx concrete added which blocked off the rear embrasure. The embrasures through the extra thickness of concrete were made with parallel sides, then angled later. Cut and bent reinforcing bars are visible in the two remaining embrasures. Field of fire SSE. Beside Crete Road East, Folkestone. [DoB has this located near Lady Wood, some distance from Crete Wood.] (1)
