Full Description
At the junction of Kent Water and the River Medway, in the Chafford Bridge area. Anti-tank gun emplacement, with gun mounting still extant. There are 2 x rifle embrasures, each with its own concrete anti-blast walls.
Standard type 24 shell proof; brick-shuttered. [Recorder Urquhart gives NGR - TQ 5512401].
Type 24 pillbox. 'Thick-walled'.Type 24 pillbox, brick-shuttered, situated on field boundary adjacent to dyke/bank of River Medway, with field of fire across river valley to SE. with PLAN drawn on form. [Recorder Farthing gives NGR - TQ 514401]. On the river bank at the junction of the River Medway and Kent Water, in the Chafford Bridge area. (1)
