Full Description

On A256 road S of Manston.Pillbox. (1)

This structure was mapped from military aerial photographs as part of the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. It was first visible and has been mapped from aerial photographs taken in February 1941 (1) and is still visible on photographs taken in August 1947 (2). However the building is gone by September 1962 (3).

The visible pillbox is rectangular in plan and measures 8m by 5m. It is most likely associated with other military activity in the area (MWX43184).
