Summary

A partly-polished axe Neolithic flint axe was found at Hope Farm, Brabourne, in January 1969. The axe was found during ploughing and remains in the possession of the finder. The axe was approximately 13cm in length and 4cm in width and had a cutting edge that had been broken and re-clipped.

Full Description

TR 085429. Ne flint, partly-polished axe found on field No.509, at Hope Farm, Brabourne, January 1969 by the farmer. (1) The axe was found by Mr. Michael Giles, farmer, who has retained it. His wife indicated the exact findspot on the ground at TR 08604296 stating that the axe was found during ploughing. Surveyed at 1:2500 (2) Approximately TR 085429. A Neolithic flint axe, partly polished, found on a field at Hope Farm in January 1969 had a cutting edge that had been broken and re-clipped. Length 5ins maximum width 1 5/8ins. (3)
