Full Description
In 1936 a probable burial group was found in Fielder's Sand Pit, Ivy Hatch. It comprised a samian cup form 46, a 2nd c. red ware jar and fragments of a narrow necked-jar which are now in Maidstone Museum. (Acc. No. 28.1936). In 1938 a late 2nd/early c. flask was found by Dr. T.A. Bowes in the NE corner of the same pit, which is centred at TQ 58715452, and is now disused. (1) [The find spot may be the sand pit where Mesolithic remains were found(TQ 55 SE 16) at TQ 58685450. This sand pit is now built over]. (2)
