On the coast W of Ramsgate.Pillbox [shown on German map of British defences].

This structure was mapped from military aerial photographs as part of the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. It was first visible and has been mapped from aerial photographs taken in February 1941 (1) and has been removed by May 1942 (2).

The visible pillbox is rectangular and measures 2.9m by 2.8m - more information regarding the location and related features can be found in record MWX43127.

A Second World War Pillbox [shown on German map of British defences], and visible at TR 3699 6410 on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1941. A second smaller square building or structure 3.5m across could be seen adjacent to this pillbox at TR 3698 6411, possibly another gun emplacement on the bottom the the road leading north from the front. Both these features were mapped from these historic photographs and mapped as part of the Historic England Ramsgate HAZ survey.(3)
