Monument record TR 36 NE 2175 - PILLBOX

Site of Second World War pillbox [Sector 7]. North-East of Hereson, on the coast. Cassini ref 835836 (4)

This structure was mapped from military aerial photographs as part of the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.

The building measures 5.5m by 4.5m and was mapped from aerial photographs taken in May 1942 [1]. The pillbox is difficult to see due to its location beside some trees, so it is was not clearly seen on any other photographs even on Google Earth.
