Monument record TQ 75 NE 421 - Red brick wall foundation and other archaeological finds recorded at the former Council offices, Springfield, Maidstone
Summary
Wall foundation made of red bricks bonded with sandy mortar (C19th date). Roman and late medieval pottery also recorded during the watching brief. Individual oyster shells found in several test pits and a single pot in one test pit. All in part of topsoil. Clinker and ash ('hardcore').
