Full Description
TR 08975706. Small concentration of bloomery cinder found in cleared woodland in Denstead Wood (a,b) It is of Roman/Mediaeval type with the source apparently the local ironstone in the Blackheath beds. Traces of burnt clay on the cinder suggests that this is in fact the site of the bloomery but no charcoal was seen. (1)
