Full Description

From the report:

"Archaeological investigations were undertaken during building work at Plot 5, Menzies
Road, Old Park, at Whitfield in 2007. NGR TR 3020 4442, centred. Observation of the
builder’s excavation for a new office block (Unit C), together with the excavation of an
evaluation trench across an adjacent area (site of Unit D) revealed a single archaeological
feature. This took the form of a pit containing a large quantity of calcined flints. The
feature appears to represent a prehistoric cooking pit, although it produced no datable finds
other than one struck flint."
