Full Description
A set of 8 6 ft x 5 ft concrete Second World War anti-tank blocks is located close to the footbridge at Springfield, Maidstone. Still in place 1994.
There are two lines of five cubes east of the bridge and one of three to the west. Two of the western cubes are shuttered with corrugated iron.(1)
2024 - Good overall condition, some covered in Ivy and obscured by undergrowth.(2)
Anti-tank cubes. 9 x 5ft concrete anti-tank cubes. [Recorder, A. Webb]. Near River Medway, off Moncktons Lane, Springfield - between Maidstone Bridge and Allington Castle, N of centre of Maidstone in Sandling area. (3)
