Monument record TQ 66 SW 50 - Trottiscliffe Reservoir and Pumping Station

Summary

A reservoir existed in Trottiscliffe and can be seen on 3rd and 4th edition OS maps. A pumping station was constructed by Mid Kent Water and opened in June 1929. It consisted of a sand trap, 3 engines and a pump. Two engine minder's cottages were built nearby. The works are still in use.

Full Description

Water reservoir built by Mid kent Water which appears on the 3rd and 4th editions O.S. and a pumping station opened June 1929, with sand trap, 3 engines and pumps.
Two engine minders cottages were built in the vicinity.
