Full Description
Second World War anti-tank pillbox facing north across the river Medway. The pillbox has a side chamber for a light machine gun and is currently used as a store for the Environment Agency. Chamfered edge. Three embrasures including one next to the main gun. The main embrasure is boarded and glazed and the others filled in with air-bricks.(1)
2024 - Concrete construction, good condition, embrasures open but entrance blocked (2)
Concrete-faced type 28a anti-tank gun emplacement. It is used today as an Environment Agency stores, and is threatened with demolition for development. Near Allington Lock on River Medway, at Environment Agency building yard. (3)
