Summary

Second World War anti-tank pillbox located in allotments. Now overgrown. The pillbox overlooked the river to the south and was part of a chain of pillboxes along the Medway forming the GHQ Line - the main defensive line in southern England.

Full Description

Second World War Type 28A anti-tank pillbox located in allotments. With concrete exterior facing. Very overgrown. In an area of waste ground, alongside the railway line, at the rear of gardens off Lower Frant Road, Maidstone.The pillbox overlooked the river Medway to the south and was part of a chain of pillboxes along the Medway.(1-3)
