Summary

During the Second World War a flame trap was located on the Loose Road, part of the southern defences of the town. The trap would have consisted of a barrel of fuel attached to an explosive device and would have been detonated to destroy approaching enemy vehicles.

Full Description

During the Second World War a flame trap was located on the Loose Road, part of the southern defences of the town. The trap would have consisted of a barrel of fuel attached to an explosive device and would have been detonated to destroy approaching enemy vehicles. It is not known whether any trace of the site remains.(1-2)
