Findspot record TR 36 NE 467 - Prehistoric flints and post-medieval pottery recovered during trial trenching evaluation in 2005

Summary

A trial trenching evaluation carried out in 2005 discovered 30 fire-cracked flints and 27 struck flints together with 7 sherds of post medieval pottery. The struck flints are likely to be of Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date.

Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation carried out in 2005 discovered 30 fire-cracked flints and 27 struck flints together with 7 sherds of post medieval pottery. The struck flints are likely to be of Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date. 12 of the flints were found in trench 1 and 3 more in trench 19. The excavator suggests that the finds indicate only casual use of the site.(1)
