Monument record TQ 74 SE 103 - Iron smelting site with Roman pottery at Lovehurst, Staplehurst
Summary
An Iron smelting site with slag was found at Lovehurst. It consisted of one circular and one teardop shaped features and a group of three 'rather amporphous' charcoal-fill features with heat-reddened sides. Pottery found has been carbon dated from AD 80 to 260.
