Close by Teston Bridge there is a Second World War reinforced concrete rectangular pillbox, with internal dimensions of 7ft x 8ft, with walls 42ins thick [2.13m x 2.44m and approximately 1m thick]. The pillbox is an unusual square type, possibly type 26 and formed part of the Medway GHQ Stop Line.
