Hexagonal Second World War pillbox guarding RAF Detling. It has conventional infantry loopholes in the sides with a central pit with vertically set pipe intended for the mounting of an anti-aircraft machine gun. Concrete construction, the loopholeds stepped externally and splayed internally. East side or of RAF Detling.
Visited in 2024 as part of the Maidstone 20th century civil and militay defence sites survey. Condition described as Fair overall condition, but heavily overgrown. (1)
