Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation in 2004 found prehistoric flints, Roman brick and tile and medieval pottery. The flint consisted of 3 pieces of struck flint (flakes) and 18 g of burnt flint. The flint was thought likely to be mesolithic or bronze age.It was not possible to date the small assemblage of Roman brick and tile or the single sherd of Roman pottery. The medieval sherd was believed to date from c. 1125 - 1250.(1)
