The survey found 8 significant finds comprising a single Roman coin (4th century) and a number of medieval and post medieval clothes and harness fittings, mounts and other objects.

Full Description
A metal detecting survey was carried out in 2004 by the Kent Archaeological Metal Detecting Support Unit in advance of flood defence alterations north of Brookfield Garden Centre. The survey found 8 significant finds comprising a single Roman coin (4th century) and a number of medieval and post medieval clothes and harness fittings, mounts and other objects.
The survey took place over one day and involved 20 detectorist hours. Climatic conditions were good but conditions were not ideal for the recovery of objects as the field had not been cultivated much in its history.(1)
